The Woodlands Kicks Off Holiday Season with Events

The Woodlands Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) presents holiday fun as the 28th Annual Lighting of the Doves, iWOW, The Ice Rink at The Woodlands Town Center and Donoho’s Jewellers Winter Wonderland return on Saturday, November 20.

The 28th Annual Lighting of the Doves will take place on Saturday from 3 pm - 9 pm at Town Green Park. Highlights include interactive booths and games, snow play area, balloon artists, face painters, inflatables, ice carvers, fireworks, live music, entertainment and more. Don’t forget to greet Santa as he makes his grand entrance in a dazzling, decorated boat from along The Woodlands Waterway® at the Celebration Stage between 7:00 pm and 7:45 pm. In conjunction with the Lighting of the Doves, iWOW will also take place at Town Green Park on Saturday from 3 – 9 pm.  iWOW showcases the holiday traditions from Japan, Panama, the United States and a myriad of other countries at exhibits along the banks of The Woodlands Waterway.  From foods, arts and crafts to music and entertainment, iWOW is certain to add an international flavor to The Woodlands’ holiday celebrations. The Woodlands Ice Rink, produced by The Woodlands CVB and presented by Jaguar Land Rover Houston North, will open daily beginning Saturday, November 20 at the northeast corner of Lake Robbins Drive and Six Pines Drive. As the largest seasonal outdoor ice rink in the southwest, the Ice Rink will remain open through Monday, January 17, 2011. Donoho’s Jewellers Winter Wonderland features illuminated holiday scenes and storybook displays surrounding the Ice Rink. Visitors can wander through the fantasyland of magical, lighted toy soldiers, elves, doves, musical angels and snowmen from dusk until 11 pm, beginning Saturday through January 3, 2011. Also, bring your non-perishable food item to Donoho’s Jewellers during the Winter Wonderland season and receive a free ice skating pass.
