Grammy Award winner folk singer/songwriter Terri Hendrix will be the starring performer at the “WhoopDeDo! at Dosey Doe” fundraising dinner concert set for Sunday, March 27th from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. benefiting Montgomery County Women’s Center.
After the success of last year’s fundraiser, Dosey Doe is again generously hosting an evening of music, entertainment and gourmet food to benefit the Montgomery County Women’s Center entitled “WhoopDeDo! at Dosey Doe” on Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This year’s event will feature live music by Grammy Award winning folk singer/songwriter Terri Hendrix. Hendrix weaves folk, pop, country, blues and swinging jazz into an eclectic style. This trailblazing independent artist’s charismatic stage presence delivers an energetic and spiritually uplifting live show.
Terri Hendrix will be joined by the legendary Lloyd Maines – known around Texas as the producer behind many CDs, and he also happens to be one of the most acclaimed pedal-steel players in contemporary music. He has played and recorded with Jerry Jeff Walker, Joe Ely and Wilco. Also, back by popular demand, inspirational live gospel music The Hubert Sisters. Event chairs Steve and Joan Said, owners of Dosey Doe, are serving a complete delicious gourmet dinner. They will also feature a rowdy, foot stompin’ live auction.
Montgomery County Women’s Center provides safe shelter, crisis intervention, counseling, legal and support services to victims/survivors of family violence, sexual assault, stalking and abuse in Montgomery County and surrounding counties, and provides education to the community about such issues.
“We are excited to host our second annual dinner concert with outstanding entertainers at Dosey Doe,” said Sarah Raleigh, Executive Director of Montgomery County Women’s Center. “So many people turned out last year and it was one of the most relaxed, entertaining and fun fundraising events ever! We hope to see another great turnout as friends gather to have a great time and support a very deserving cause that affects so many women and children who have experienced domestic violence, which happens more than most people realize right here in our community. The funds we raise will help us continue to significantly help women and children who find themselves in the most difficult situation of their lives.”
The dinner concert will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Dosey Doe located in The Woodlands at 25911 I-45 North (on the southbound feeder). Tickets are now on sale for $125 per person, and a limited number of VIP seats are available at $500 per person. To purchase tickets, please call Dosey Doe at (281) 367-3774 as seating is limited.
